RRRA Announces All-Access to the Dining Hall

OTTAWA, Febuary 2nd, 2015 –  FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE The Rideau River Residence Association (RRRA) is proud to announce all-access dining to all students in the Carleton Dining Hall starting as of 2015-2016

Students living in traditional style residences will be offered one plan called the All Access Plan which gives them unlimited entry into the Residence Dining Hall from opening to closing each day. Students living in suite style rooms will have the option of the All Access Plan or a Reduced Plan which includes seven meals per week and dining dollars. Leeds and Frontenac students may choose either of these plans or to opt out completely.

“We’re happy to have worked with Carleton Dining Services on these progressive changes to our dining hall” William Verschuren, RRRA President, said. “An accessible Dining Hall in residence allows students not to worry about how many meals they have left or when they have to eat”

As of 2014-2015 the Residence Dining Hall operated on a three meal basis. Students with meal plans were unable to enter the Dining Hall twice during a meal slot, and students’ unused meals could not be turned over on a weekly basis.”

We’ve taken the key initiative to commit to our promise before we take office in May and we’re happy to have delivered this to students next year.” Graham Pedregosa, President-Elect and current Vice President Administration, said.

Previous RRRA administrations have attempted, unsuccessfully, to remove meal-slots and make the Dining Hall accessible.
