RRRA Announces Shinerama Kickoff with Mayor Jim Watson
Friday July 24, 2015 (OTTAWA, ON) –The Rideau River Residence Association (RRRA) is proud to announce the Carleton Shinerama Kickoff to raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis Research and Care.
The event will take place at 5:30 PM, August 25, 2015 at Ottawa City Hall.
Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson will serve as honourary chair of the event.
“This event will be one of the largest fundraising initiatives for Shinerama at Carleton – we are very excited to raise money for such a worthy cause in a new way,” said Graham Pedregosa, President of RRRA. “This is a fantastic way to engage Carleton alumni and community builders in Ottawa and to celebrate thirty-three years Shinerama has been part of Carleton University.”
The Carleton Shinerama Kickoff is a fundraising reception that will feature representatives from Cystic Fibrosis Canada, Beau’s Beer and Carleton Dining Services. Tickets are $100.00 for adults and $25.00 for students. Adult tickets are eligible for a tax receipt from Cystic Fibrosis Canada. Tickets include food and drink.
Mayor Jim Watson was one of the founding members of Shinerama in the early 1980s when he was RRRA President and is serving as honoury chair of the event.
“We are happy to have refreshments and food donated to us from Beau’s Beer and Carleton Dining Services,” Pedregosa continued. “There is no doubt that this event will contribute to Carleton’s Shinerama goal and kick-off our major donation drive during Fall Orientation.”
